Micro-Climat by Anton Mobin

Der in Paris lebende Klangkünstler Anton Mobin (Anthony Baron, *1979) erstellt mit seinem neuen Stück keine vage Wetterprognose, sondern bestimmt maßgeblich das Klima.
In seiner fast schon traditionell anmutenden Komposition versöhnen sich Clicks & Cuts der Moderne mit in Bodennähe gefundenen Klängen der Music Concrete. Da der Künstler hier weit mehr als sachliche Meteorologie betreibt, schafft Mobin aus Sprachfetzen und Geräuschen, in eben dieser Bodennähe, eine klar umrissene Landschaft, deren Mikroklima sich nicht aus statistischen Erhebungen, Durchschnittswerten und Aufzeichnungen zusammensetzt. Vielmehr beschreibt er mit seinem hörspielartigen Werk die Verschiedenartigkeit des imaginären Geländes, die Bodenbeschaffenheit, den Bewuchs, mögliche Bebauung und Temperaturunterschiede. All das übt in erheblichem Maße Einfluss auf dieses klangliche Mikroklima aus.
Unterschiedliche Färbungen und Ströme strapazieren die Vorstellungskraft des Hörers, lassen ihm aber ebenso genügend Freiraum für eigene Assoziationen. Und doch wirkt dieses viertelstündige Stück wie das Klima selbst. Unmittelbar.
Die Komposition basiert auf Quellmaterial aus der Bretagne und Süd-Frankreich und ist Teil der soundPOOL Installation der SoundLAB VI. Auf die Download Veröffentlichung folgend, erscheint eine limitierte Auflage im CD-R Format auf H.A.K. Lo-Fi Record.

With his new piece the Paris-based sound artist Anton Mobin (Anthony Baron, *1979) does not compile a vague weather forecast, but alters the climate significantly. The composition appears to be traditional and the modern Click & Cut movement reconcile with the near-ground sounds found in Music Concrete.
In this near-ground area the artist creates much more than factual statements of meteorology with statistics, investigations and average values. It becomes a micro-climate full of sounds, noises and sometimes scraps of conversations assembled to a clearly defined landscape. To a greater degree Mobin paints an imaginary terrain with a variety of textures, vegetation, existing development and temperature differences. All that has influence on the audible micro climate. Different colorations and various currents strain the imagination of the listener, but there is always free space for interpretation.
And after all the quarter of an hour piece works like climatic changes do. Immediately.
The composition based on source material recorded in 2008 on the peninsula of Croisic (Bretagne) and on the Ile du Frioul (South of France) and became part of the soundPOOL installation at SoundLAB VI.
